- This picture dates from June 1960. The RCTS East Midlands Branch used to run a weekend tour of visits to Scottish Region loco sheds over the Whitsun weekend. I went on it in 1960 and.remember it all started with an overnight ride from London Euston to Oban,(via the Callander route in those days) in a 4-berth 3rd class sleeper. This picture.shows our group somewhere along the way, possibly in the Glasgow area but I can't remember where though - does anyone here recognise it?.Also seen is our splendid coach driver. He was a regular on these tours and always did a great job. The tour leaders are in in the front row kneeling:these annual trips were organised by Vic Forster who is the gentleman in the white shirt and dark tie.Those were the days!
