Seeking information - unknown working at Inverness, 1970s
Description:
A friend of mine has bought a slide from ebay with no details and I'm wondering if anyone can shed any light on what the train might be. The image is taken from Rose Street level crossing in Inverness of a train pointing towards Dingwall.   24119 is on the front, with an unidentified class 26 behind it.  The end of the first Mk1 coach is visible and both locos are leaking steam. The 24 is carrying a headboard that reads 'Far North', in white capitals on a dark background. Both locomotives are clean, with the 24 having a working headcode panel (displaying 7N04).  24119 was shopped from Derby in 1975. The light angle suggests its early morning - maybe 0800.    The trees are green, so its not midwinter. I would share the image, but I can't see how to do this without making it publically available outside of the group. There is no train on sixbellsjunction that fits the bill, and a scan of flickr has produced a blank. Can anyone help ID this working?
