- Stirling Station car park reconstruction looking north. 19.08.22
- Description:
- Stirling Station car park reconstruction looking north from the 'Spiky' Bridge. Where the entrance and exit barriers were will become a turning circle. A new footpath along Goosecroft Road on the railway side will be constructed from Shore Street Bridge to the Bus Station exit (I don't know how much will be done by Luddon and the Extent being done by Stirling Council). The ugly roadside railings will go as will the Goosecroft roundabout. The Goosecroft footpath kerbline will have ornamental bollards inserted for the protection of pedestrians instead and the roundabout replaced by a junction. Artist's impressions appear to show a replica of the original porte cochère jutting out from the station entrance. It would appear that the existing north station car park will be closed on on the opening of the new one. Does this mean the north car park will be turned back into stabling sidings / bay platforms under the two unused arches of Shore Street Bridge? I presume the layby between the bus and train stations will be extended and become the new taxi rank? 19.08.22
