Heading for Perth
Description:
Britannia 70041 SIR JOHN MOORE at Motherwell in 1966 with the 9.25am Crewe-Perth which was one of the last regularly steam hauled Anglo-Scottish trains and was a favourite run for enthusiasts from Motherwell to either Stirling or Perth and back to Buchanan Street behind an A4. The 925am from Crewe later became a Birmingham to Perth and lasted until I think May 1970 when it became a Birmingham-Glasgow in the double headed Class 50 era.
