CR 0-4-4T

Welcome to scot-rail.co.uk, Scotland's online railway community. The group is for any rail enthusiast interested in the railways and trains of Scotland. It not only consists of the wiki that you're reading now, but a busy online forum and mailing list, which was accessible to registered users. From April 2024 the forum has closed, with a replacement started on Groups.io.

  • The 19 and 92 classes were originally fitted with condensing apparatus for use on Glasgow Central Low Level lines.
  • The 19 class had smaller water tanks than the later classes.
  • The 104 class had a wide cab and smaller driving wheels, and were used on the Cathcart circle and Balerno branch.

  • Missing number blocks in the LMS sequence are Glasgow & South Western Railway Locos:
    • 15241-15244 were Smellie GSWR Class '1' 0-4-4T, the last withdrawn in 1926.
    • 15245-15254 were Manson GSWR Class '326' 0-4-4T, the last withdrawn in 1932. <Flickr>
  • Highland Railway Class 'W' 0-4-4T locos were LMS 15051-15054, with 55051 & 55053 surviving into the BR period.
