The Caledonian Railway built many 0-6-0 tender locomotives, primarily for hauling goods trains, but some were equipped with train brakes for working local passenger services.

Preservation

One surviving representative is McIntosh 812 Class locomotive: CR 828 / LMS 17566 / BR 57566 (built at St Rollox, 1899) based on the Strathspey Railway.
